Gomaae ($4.95), literally a "sesame dressing" most often applied to boiled spinach, had a peculiarly fermented flavor, perhaps from miso paste. Spicy beef nabayashi udon ($13) added thin-sliced meat as well as carrot, spinach, cabbage, radish, mushrooms, egg, and scallion, liberally speckled with red pepper, to a bowl of thick wheat noodles in broth. Nice level of spicing, but the noodles themselves were far too soft.
