Roll & Dough

(This venue is closed.) Sibling to Bing, but here the stuffed pastry with cabbage, Chinese mushrooms, and "dried baby shrimp seed" ($1.50) costs a half-buck more than in Flushing. (When naming their restaurant, I wonder, were the owners of Roll & Dough conjuring a sound-alike for "rollin' in dough"?) To be fair, this relatively new West Village outpost offers a more expansive menu, as well as seating and delivery, but the vagaries of supply and demand allowed this particular pastry to sit too long. Better a two-day-old bagel than a two-hour-old bing.
