Urban Lobster
Steaming is the favored style at this takeout joint that would be equally at ease on the Jersey shore. (The photo at bottom shows the former East Village location, now closed; Urban Lobster still does business from much smaller premises in the Financial District.) A side of broccoli with olive oil (below; $3.25) didn't stint on the garlic; New England clam chowder ($6) — fattened up with butter and light cream, plus onions, potatoes, and an ample helping of the namesake crustaceans — was very comforting on a brisk day.
