Westside's burgers have disappointed me in the past, but a plate of once-fried fries ($3.95) will lay down a proper protective barrier for brew. While it lasts, try a draft pint of the Southhampton pumpkin ale ($6), which harvests a full rounded flavor without wavering toward cloying or bitter.
On a previous occasion, a medium-rare burger ($7.95) was mushy, and dressing it with Heinz, Grey Poupon, and a tomato soon made my English muffin soggy. However, a pint of Blue Point Hoptical Illusion ($5) was quite nice: ruddy amber (or was that just a trick of the dim lighting?) with a quickly vanishing creamy head; orangey aroma and taste with underplayed hops.
