Dave, I'm going to guess that the turned duck egg was wonderful, no need to try that dog again (though I've heard that dog soup is good -- not for me though) and those fried silkworms would do in a pinch.

My guess:
wonderful: larva (though grubs don't have too much taste)
in a pinch: dog
don't need again: the turned duck (if only becuase of the consistency)
