It's not high art: King's is simply the go-to location for a hearty breakfast in this corner of Fairfield County. Bolstered by scrambled eggs and chunky home fries, an order of biscuits and gravy (about $8) is a formidable combo. (You'll have to scoop it; this "gravy" doesn't run.) But not all the breakfast items are heavyweights; the buttermilk pancakes ($4.95, or a little more when studded with fruit or bacon) are as fluffy as you'll ever find on your fork.
