This container was packed tight, but the store is roomier and better-stocked than many other Middle Eastern groceries in the borough.
My most recent visit turned up Al Nobalh brand "Arabic Sweets" (about 1 lb; $6.99), from Syria, not-too-sugary cookies flavored with pistachios and sesame.
On an earlier occasion, a lemon soda (330 ml.; 75 cents) was only a little less intriguing after I spun it around and read the brand name in the original English; obvious now, especially after a closer look. Opened with an old-style pull tab, the way they still make 'em in Egpyt; unrelentingly lemony.
