Nice view, once you wend your way into the small dining room. One Memorial Day weekend, a red, white, and blue waffle ($8.50) teamed up strawberries and bananas with blueberries that should have been just as fresh, given the season. Good; could have been better.
Lakeside's omelettes — recently, I've tried the mushroom-pepper-spinach-swiss and the portabello-tomato-mozzarella ($8 or $9 each) — are a very satisfying if unexceptional diner rendition; excellent home fries feature a very thin brown-black crust. Arrive early for a crack at the homemade cinnamon-sugar doughnuts (50 cents).
