At the Fifth Ave. Fair, this excellect fried oyster po' boy ($10), livened up with spicy mayo in addition to the cole slaw, was underdressed compared with the New Orleans standard, but then again, Park Slope is just a Metrocard ride away.
On a previous visit:
My favorite appetizer — a compact but succulent short rib "sandwich" (bottom photo; $11) with creamed spinach and a quail egg on a housemade potato roll — just edged out the lamb's tongue ($11), with greens and grainy mustard.
The steak sandwich ($13) was pretty good, though not too heavy on the meat; very good fries. Chatham cod ($22) had a nicely browned top and very tender underside, but I could easily have cupped it in my hand. With two parmesan hushpuppies, over a scanty pool of succotash with bacon. Blackberry panna cotta with a berry compote ($7) was a little grainy, a little small.
