it probably didn't taste like a cashew nut as you're used to it, but instead like cashew fruit. it's not the most exciting fruit out there, but it's interesting to think that it comes from the same plant. great blog!

If you get a chance to buy bottled concentrated cashew juice (yes, it is a fruit) you will like it much more than the powder; just mix it with water & sugar and it's wonderful. I can't really compare it to any fruit juice flavor I've tried but would say it most closely resembles a FRESH apple or pear juice, not from the bottle.
