This small Salvadoran restaurant and "pupuseria" prepares a half-dozen varieties of the stuffed tortilla.
The pupusa filled with loroco, an edible flower that tastes like a mild squash, is the dearest at just $2 (below). The open-faced enchilada Salvadoreño (below that; $2.50) was a pleasant surprise, even though I couldn't decipher more than rough-cut slaw, hardboiled egg, bits of beef (perhaps), and hot sauce. The tamal de elote (sweet corn tamale; $1.75) held in check a moat of runny sour cream; it could almost pass for dessert. Good café con leche ($1).
