Sour cream is my favorite pairing for steamed pierogis ($6.50 per dozen, or perhaps a few more), with a little salt to coax out the flavor. Lightly pan-fried, the half-moon dumplings are good with butter and sugar, too.
That's plum, from an autumn visit; in early summer, you can find a nubbly version filled with whole blueberries.

This place is the best. Their pierogies (potato, potato-onion, potato-cheese-onion, cheese, sauerkraut, beef, blueberries, spinach, etc.), staffed cabage, hunter stew, soups, salads are all home made. They all taste just like my grandma made them. I go there every Saturday and I always cannot wait for this day.
You have to go and try this place. It is not a restaurant but a take out. It is very easy to warm up all the food. You just put pierogies n a boiling water. Wait 5 minutes and it is ready. You can also put it in a microwave or just fry them. Any way it is delicious.
Trust me it tastes like heaven.
