Kossar's Bialys

Not merely a bagel that couldn't go through with it, a bialy — like the plumper of the two "Producers," named for the Polish town of Bialystock — is a baked roll with a characteristic depression in the center. This nicely browned one (60 cents) received poppyseeds as well as a pat of garlic.
