Takeaway outlet for Blue Ribbon's nearby full-service restaurant. Though tempted by the promise of fresh-made toast topped by honey from one of several prominent countertop containers, I settled on this more portable option, a loaf flavored by (though hardly crowded with) bacon and grilled red onions ($2.50).

It's $2.50. As for looks: Inside the bakery, where the various loaves poke out endwise from their countertop basket, they seemed considerably more attractive; next time, I'll ask if I can't take a photo there. Even though I learn new things all the time as an amateur food stylist on the go, there's little to be done with flat loaf, flat bench, and hungry, impatient me.
