Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden

The vast beer garden behind Bohemian Hall is a fine place to rest your elbows with a pitcher or two.

When hunger strikes, avail yourself of no-frills belly-fillers like a footlong kielbasa with cabbage and rye bread (the fixings for a messy two-handed sandwich, if you like), or potato pancakes with applesauce and sour cream. Wherever you find them — in Astoria, or at an annual street festival in Manhattan on the first Saturday in October — mind that T-shirt's advice and "Czech yourself before you wreck yo'self."
