The shelves of this grocery/takeout/saloon/café are primly packed, almost to a fault, with small quantities of many gourmet products; baked goods and even pizza nestle on and under the glass-fronted counter.
On one late-summer visit, the housemade ice creams included an exceedingly rich maple; that's the small ($4). The large ($7) would be "about a pint," I was assured (or maybe warned). Another time I snagged a bottle of Virgil's cream soda (12 fl. oz.; about $2), a very good if pricey rendition that disdains corn syrup for cane sugar.
Marlow's saloonlike back room, and in warm weather the café out front, often serve as a holding area for its parent restaurant, Diner (shown below, on the corner) but Marlow's own brief menu might be worth a look, too.

I went here for Dinner a few weeks ago - the place blew my socks off. And its very reasonably priced (even the wine).
