Garifuna Star

(This venue is closed.) I'm fond of West African food, and I'm still getting to know Honduran, so I was very excited to read on Chowhound about a restaurant that offered a hybrid of the two. Serving Garifuna food must have seemed a sketchy business proposition — the owners never did change the awning, which still bore the name of the previous occupant, Romance Restaurant — so I was disappointed but not totally surprised to see two neon-colored police notices stuck to the front door. I haven't returned, but unlike Department of Health citations, restraining orders are tough to bounce back from.
