Ocean Jewels

The cart ladies are more forward than most, and occasionally that's true of the dim sum, too.

It's a good idea to choose a table captain (or maybe co-captains) so you're not swamped by more than you can handle at any one time, and to help balance the crunchy and the chewy, the heavy and the light, the savory and even the sweet. Shown below (about $3 to $6 each): deep fried spring rolls with shrimp; pan-fried stuffed eggplant; siu mai with fish roe; chive dumplings; crispy taro rolls; roast pork buns; pan-fried turnip cakes; salt-and-pepper fried anchovies; spare ribs with garlic; chicken feet with black bean sauce; sticky rice; cold almond tofu pudding.
