I Trulli
Trulli are traditional stone houses from the southern Italian region of Puglia, distinguished by their conical, mortar-free stone roofs. The design of this expansive restaurant, and the Apulian cuisine you'll find there, are likewise free of flourishes.
Shown, above and below (all from the $35 Restaurant Week prix fixe dinner): appetizers of baby calzones filled with fresh mozzarella and tomato, and braised octopus and cuttlefish with tomatoes and chickpeas; entrées of a wood-oven-roasted rainbow trout (sizable, to be sure) with cauliflower, almonds, and lemon, and oven-baked cannelloni; warm chocolate cake.
