That's especially true of the larger location, at 124-13. Fresh tamarind balls (three for $1) had more give than their prepackaged cousins, but I like 'em spicier. Below, that's a slice of the currants roll ($1.75), typically cut on an extreme bias to show off as much of the fruit as possible. This one was a bit crusty and dry.

I love walking on Liberty, underneath that elevated. It's one of NYC's most underappreciated scenes, for sure. I'm sure you came across two or three Chinese-West Indian joints; Jerk Chicken Fried Rice, anyone? Also, not far from the first Little Guyana Bake Shop, you might have noticed a store peddling Bollywood on the street, at ridiculously low prices, 3 for 12 bucks or something like that. Perhaps they raised their prices. Mae's definitely looks interesting.
