It's also called hot taho, dofu fa, and soy custard. But by any name, when prepared this Chinese-made Mount Elephant brand instant mix (eight packets, 256 g. total, $1.99) couldn't hold a candle to my favorite ready-made rendition.
On other occasions: DeDe brand basil seed drink with honey (280 ml., $1) is a drink for sipping, slowly, while you roll the little black seeds around in your mouth Each seed is nestled in a clear, gelatinous layer; when chewed on, they have a vaguely plantlike taste, though I'd never guess basil. The honey comes through well enough. Lufo brand pure coconut water (310 ml., $1) was just that; when the coconuts aren't the sweetest, a little added sugar would be in order.
There's also a sizable refrigerated selection of produce, featuring the likes of rau ram and banana "flowers," and a small kitchenware section in back. Though the awning mentions "sandwiches," however, I've never seen sign of any banh mi.
