They know enough, though, to bide their time; they'll be taken care of. I was tipped to San Marco in a Chowhound post by jfores, who eats very widely and well in New York when not studying abroad. This grandma slice — sliced in two by the fellow who served me, before he turned about and prepared another pie — may now cost all of $2.25, but as jfores observed, it's a solid neighborhood slice, and then some. Don't be tellin' anyone any different.
