Lemonade from Georgia: What's so special about that?
This particular Georgia is the former Soviet Socialist Republic; its capital, Tbilisi, is some 10,000 kilometers northeast of Atlanta. Lightly carbonated Tbilisi lemonade (500 ml.; about $2) has a caramel tinge much like many ginger ales, but the mouthfeel is much smoother and rounder, owing to the grapes that also contribute much of the flavor. Refreshing, just not a particularly lemony lemonade.
Even in New York, I don't often come upon a store that offers as many unfamiliar "A-Z European delicacies...from meats, cheeses, and fish to all sorts of boxed, canned, and jarred foods." Worth the drive.
