One of the great things about the Red Hook Ball Fields used to be that you could walk around, see what was cooking, and order "one like that."
A season or two ago, that's how I secured a fine, filling order of Ecuadorian-style seafood fried rice (below). But now that the Rojas clan operates from a mobile unit not much larger than a golf cart, there's little room for rice. Still on offer: a shrimp-heavy mixed ceviche ($8); tuna soup ($8); and a Chilean-style beef empanada ($2) in a biteaway view that shows off bits of onion and hardboiled egg.
