If you enjoy my photographs of signage, streetscapes, and urban oddities, have a gander at Counter/Culture: The Disappearing Face of Brooklyn's Storefronts, on exhibit through December 28 at the Brooklyn Historical Society. You can get a taste for the exhibition at the society's website (note the extensive list of audio tracks at the bottom of the page) and at the website of photographers James and Karla Murray.
Admission to the historical society is $6 ($4 for students and seniors). To get the biggest bang for your buck, you might want to visit on November 19, at 6:30 (I'll remind you), when you'll also be able to enjoy a talk by the Murrays and several of the store owners, and a slideshow that will present many images that simply couldn't fit in the society's gallery.
