In addition to baskets of crisp bread with butter and cheese plus pitchers of lingonberry drink, $20 secured a plate of Christmas delicacies (clockwise, from front): gravlax, Swedish meatballs, lingonberry preserves, beet salad, ham, herring (hidden, behind the) anchovy salad, and half a hardboiled egg topped with the creamed, smoked cod roe paste called Swedish caviar. Richer and more filling than it looks.

Late November

We hit all 3 church fests yesterday, and plan on going to the Finnish one this weekend. I loved the shrimp smorrebrod and the dough fritters at the Danish church; we could only manage glogg at the other two (the Swedish version had a nice little kick to it!).
