Of course there's a tour-bus stop outside, though how Casa Della Mozzarella squeezes tour groups inside is beyond me.
There's barely room to order, let alone browse, in this slender shop; conveniently, your principal buying decisions will simply be salted or unsalted, ball or bocconcini. The namesake cheese ($6.95 per pound; my ball weighed about a pound and a half) is bright white, wonderfully creamy, and very wet, especially after the first incision. Owing to its high moisture content, for transport my mozzarella was knotted in a clear plastic bag, set down in a cardboard caddy, wrapped in butcher paper, placed in a second plastic bag, and deposited in my backpack (all but the last seemed to be standard procedure).
This is the same fresh mozzarella that tops many of the pies at Zero Otto Nove, a short stroll away; you can surely find ways to put it to good use yourself. But if you put Casa Della Mozzarella on your personal tour, be sure you beat the bus.
