Arrive as early as you please — the proprietor of this anonymous Williamsburg storefront will already be sitting by the front window, her cheesemaking done for the day. Georgia Tedone, now in her 90s, reportedly begins work before dawn to prepare her beloved fresh mozzarella ($6 per ball, or about a pound). You might find it a little grainier than its supremely creamy reputation, and the brining might leave it unevenly salty, but I like to think of these particulars as the indicia of a handcrafted product. Many loyal customers seem to agree; if any mozzarella is left by midafternoon, count yourself lucky.

Love those old school garbage cans out front!!
Went to St. Francis Prep when it was on No.6th & Driggs back in the mid 70's. Used to catch the bus back to Sunnyside right by this place.
