I Love Py, one of the city's rare Paraguayan eateries, offers a standing menu as well as a rotating selection of intriguing dishes in a bright, very casual setting. On Friday (Viernes) you can sample vori vori ($4), a chicken soup named for those golden balls of cornmeal. (Many renditions bind them with cheese; I'm not sure if that's the case here.) Visit some other day, and who knows what you might discover.

The deep fried, but not greasy, Paraguayan empanadas are good. They're fried-to-order, not sitting there for hours. The donut, Py's style, is just so-so.
