This Sicilian confectionary and ice cream parlor retains much of the charm it first brought to New Orleans more than a century ago. Pluck Roman chewing candy from an apothecary jar, sit down at one of the little tables to cuccidati and cappuccino, or walk away with a scoop of the housemade gelato (blood orange, from fresh fruit, was the seasonal selection in early April). Shown below is a sit-down gelato called torroncino ($2.75), flavored with cinnamon and almond.
