The luncheonette's salad days are long forgotten.
When it answered to the British-styled name Greenfield Chemist, "drugs," "soda," "prescriptions," and a "luncheonette" could all be found beyond that wall (click the photo for a better look). At one time the pharmacy may have filled the footprint occupied by four businesses today, but Pervez Ali, who took the reins when Mr. Greenfield retired, in 1978, couldn't say how much earlier the building had been subdivided and the luncheonette, 86'ed.
