A curiosity to me, but a comfort to couch potatoes who grew up with the likes of Tayto pickled onion flavor crisps (35 g.; about $1) and Smith's bacon flavor fries (25 g.; about $1), a "cereal snack with that extra crunchy bacon taste." (More curious: in the refrigerator case I made a rare sighting of Mrs. French's AK-100, the Haitian corn-based beverage.) By contrast, Fry's Peppermint Cream (50 g.; about $2), a Cadbury confection of dark chocolate with a fondant center, long ago passed into the realm of snacks that know no national boundaries.

Any curry flavored crisps?

The Tayto website doesn't list any, but the deli had a separate section from a different manufacturer that I didn't examine closely. So, maybe.

Another spot, close to that, for folks exploring Queens, is the Butcher's Block in Sunnyside. It's at 43-46 41st St (just off Queens Blvd, next to the Burger King). The last time I was there I picked up $12 worth of crisps in flavors including, but not limited to Crispy Duck, Cajun Squirrel and there was definitely a curry, but I forget what kind. Big shop, with a huge selection.
