"Williamsburgh," with an H, as in the name of the former savings bank and now winter home of the Brooklyn Flea food vendors. "Baja" as in the beaches of Baja California, the inspiration for Choncho's fish tacos ($4.50, or two for $8), topped with crema, onion, cilantro, and a generous handful of fresh, crunchy red cabbage, plus hot sauce and lime to taste. The lightly fried fish, often cod, today mahi-mahi, is tender and tasty once you manage to ferry it mouthward. Too bad that a bracing onshore breeze is hard to replicate in the still air of a bank basement.

i was there over the weekend too, but the stall just started to setup so didn't try one. Yes, that basement has a major draft issue. Some horchata would be a nice touch. :)
