Is this an effort to commercialize esquites? I might have expected to see this poster on Roosevelt Ave. or in Sunset Park rather than in Sunnyside, whose Mexican community is comparatively small. The CupItFood website, however, indicates broader ambitions: Corn in Cup recipes include "original, Southern, Mumbai, East/West, Roma, Moroccan, West Indies, and Parisienne," and the company also markets products named Potato in Cup, PotaCorn, and Waffle in Cup.
I was hurrying to an appointment and couldn't stop to investigate. If you try Corn in Cup before I do, please post a comment for your fellow readers.

Given that it doesn't look soupy in the product photo, I was thinking maybe Colombian maicitos, another mainstay of that part of Sunnyside, but I don't see pineapple, mayo or potato sticks, so who knows?

I've actually tried this! The owner gave me a sample when they got the corn-popping machine a couple months ago...it's actually not half bad, kind of like unpopped popcorn thats been buttered and salted.

I bought a small cup this afternoon. The steamed corn kernels were scooped out from the big stainless steel steamer. I chose "spicy topping". The store uses Asian style sambal (chili sauce) from a bottle. Good snack when it's still warm. Cheese, butter and salt are also available as alternatives.

The store is still there, but it does not sell the steamed corn anymore. There are more Turkish products though.
