"Established 1932," according to the faded but still extant mural shown at bottom, Major Markets Prime Meats was the neighborhood butcher shop for more than 75 years, the final 60 in the company of Jimmy Prince, before closing its doors in February 2009. In common with many businesses in the immediate neighborhood, the current tenant caters to a growing Mexican community.
