Usually it's crunchier, too, was my thought on biting into a butterscotch-dipped vanilla cone. Or perhaps that's an imperfect ice cream memory from my childhood; on a later occasion, cherry was the same story (each small cone, $1.75). Is it just me, or are the dips also a little less firm than they used to be?

The thing to have at a Dairy Queen is the Peanut Buster Parfait. They still use salted Spanish peanuts, and they double-layer it, starting with fudge and peanuts, a squirt of vanilla soft-serve, then more peanuts and fudge, more ice cream, and a little topping of fudge & peanuts. It's outstanding.
