By email, a Karl Ehmer representative confirmed news I first read on Chowhound: "The main retail location (where orders are currently shipped from) on Fresh Pond Road in New York will be closing on September 30th." The adjoining facility — which manufactures traditional German meat products for its own retail stores as well as independent grocers — will also cease operation, the representative added. "But the Ehmer brand will still continue through new ownership, and they are hopeful to open another retail location in the same area in the future."
