Like most modern-day delis, this German-rooted oldtimer makes allowances for today's dining preferences. You can order from a roster of wraps and panini, or top a tossed salad with grilled chicken teriyaki. But purists take note: For the foundation of my roast beef on a roll ($7), with turkey and swiss, lettuce, tomato, and mustard, I was able to choose from no fewer than four roast-beef face-outs. If you're particular about the rareness of your roast beef, it's good to be able to pick and choose.
