Weekday lunches and dinners bring a couple of choices at that rock-bottom price point. The rotating selection includes BBQ rib tips, creamed spinach, and rice with red beans (above) and baked chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and black-eyed peas with rice (below). A few more plates will set you back $4, $5, or a princely $6 for the Friday fish-and-shrimp special; weekday breakfasts run $3 and $4. The sparingly decorated but well-kept dining room, inside the Salvation Army Harlem Temple, is open to all. Some eat in, some take theirs to go.
