With fried calamari, of course (appetizer, $9.75), but also with calamari meatballs ($6). They're finely minced yet still firm, like better Asian fishballs, in an excellent Italian-American red sauce. The black pasta (appetizer, $10.50) — tinted with squid ink and dressed with ground squid sauteed in garlic and olive oil — is superb.

(From a summer 2009 visit)

Aside from my last visit there, where the squid dishes we ordered were overcooked (now know better to ask next time that they don't make that mistake again), the Daily Catch offers the best fried squid I've had, hands down. Crispy and not a hint of oiliness. Served with red chili vinegar.
The squid meatballs are excellent. Baby stuffed squids w/linguine and red sauce is another long-time favorite. Their red sauce is also the best I think I've had, and I'm pretty picky.
