This stiff, dense, deeply cupped hamentash ($2) had a raspberry filling; apricot, poppy, and prune were also available. Like everything sold here, prepared at Moishe's Home Made Kosher Bake Shop on Second Ave.

I take it that's no relation to the Moishe's kosher bakery on 2nd Avenue?

Though I didn't ask, Stephanie, my bet would be no; Moishe is a common enough name.

I lose that bet. A follow-up inquiry found that both businesses are under the same ownership, and that all the baking in done at the on Second Ave. location.
