My wife loves this place and takes friends here like it's a tourist attraction. I don't see the appeal but maybe that's because I'm always drawn to the weirdest flavors and many of those don't work well. The lox ice cream tastes like lox with freezer burn.

I know their Website says they're in Flushing, but technically they're in Kew Gardens Hills.

You're right, Stephanie; thanks for pointing it out. I've made the change in the text, though my own website is still too small to have a Kew Gardens Hills category.

An important note for anyone going to Max & Mina's: They're observant, so they're *closed* on SATURDAYS. Some friends and I found that out the hard way a few months ago. So, I still haven't tasted their ice cream.

A poppyseed flavor is mentioned in a Chowhound thread. Sounds fascinating.

Dave Cook

Thanks for the prompt, Ike; I've updated my post. Wonder what the scene is like on Saturday night?
