The beer batter is light, but there's too much of it. The beautiful thing about a softshell is how little comes between you and your crab; compare Cantler's. Though the sandwich ($16.95) went overboard with the batter, the crab "cocktail" ($14.95) strayed in another, more appealing direction — no cocktail glass could hold it. Take your jumbo lumps.
