How snug was the seating? The already small church kitchen, which I found down a flight of stairs, past a walkway hung with racks of used clothing, and through the far door of a thrift shop, doubled as the dining room during the bazaar. Fortunately, the company was amiable, and the food was homemade — literally, by various ladies of the congregation in their own home kitchens. Stuffed peppers ($3); apricot cookies ($2).

Hello Dave,
I believe my wife and I and I our fidgety 2 year old were part of the 'amiable company' squeezed in across the table from you that day.
It was nice to meet you!
(though I still think you should have gone with the borscht) :-)
