(This venue is closed.) The Malesia Garden Café out back — being spruced up this afternoon for warmer days to come — is a sign of Albanian influences on this corner eatery.
The menu consists primarily of pizzeria standards, plus a few items along the lines of grilled meat and stuffed cabbage. Sam's also has a small Balkan grocery selection, where I found Kras brand hazelnut wafers (500 g.; $3.75), from Yugoslavia. They're toasty, nutty, and not tooth-achingly sweet.
