Bill, Nancy and I had our first taste of African chicken at a midtown restaurant, though the midtown was in Macau, about an hour's ride by fast ferry from Kowloon. We didn't understand the fuss; our half-chicken (HK90) was dry, and the tomatoey sauce was bland. Fish curry (about HK70) was fine. For dessert, serradura, or "sawdust pudding" (shown; HK30) was cold and dense, like the Indian ice cream kulfi with thin layers of crumbs.
