Like a steamed Lao version of "hot pockets."
Many of the streets in Luang Prabang go by several names; the town planners seem to have dispelled confusion by posting as few signs as possible, even along considerable stretches of the main thoroughfares. I came across this vendor on one of the narrow, unmarked side streets to the east of the night market; her bao (2,000 kip each) were packed with ground beef and onion, plus half a hard-boiled egg.
