More choices than I had time for.
Or room for, after arriving in the afternoon and searching out street food into the evening. A small serving from the bowl below (1,000 kip) included vegetables, blossoms, and some finely ground, fiercely spicy meat. The popsicle-shaped skewers (1,000 kip each) were sticky rice, in several "flavors," it seemed; after I bite or two, I applied the rest to that spicy stir-fry. For dessert, a segment of squash (5,000 kip) cupped a mysterious mauve substance, much like the glutinous rice below it, as well as the more typical custard. The next night, I sampled a quartet of sweets (2,000 kip total): black sticky rice, pumpkin-laced custard, tan sweet potato (or something like it), and red-and-white coconutty glutinous rice (my best guess).
