I did, after stumbling on this Lebanese grill and grocery that Robert Sietsema had reviewed not long before. For seating, the counter might accommodate ten diners in a companionable mood; it's set high on the wall, so from a stool, my sandwich ($3) stared me right in the face. In an ultrathin pita, several slabs of lightly fried eggplant were bundled with onion, tomato, pickles, parsley, and (on request) an exceptional mayo-like garlic sauce.
