(This venue is closed.) Maybe the name should be "Temple of Snacks." This Taiwanese stall — which enjoyed a brief sojourn at the short-lived Roosevelt Food Court before returning to its original home, the Flushing Mall — makes a plump gua bao. Look for it under the humble name "Taiwanese steamed sandwich" ($4).
Also shown: a sausage-and-eggs platter (about $5.50); Taiwanese dry noodles ($5), also known as choppy dry noodles and as qie-zai dry noodles. In truth, they're wetted down with broth and tossed with bean sprouts, leeks, and minced pork, and they're wonderful.
